Pilates for Wellness + Rehabilitation
Supporting Whole-Person Wellness through Movement
Bringing together the mindful movements of Pilates, and the lens of physical therapy, these sessions are about gaining awareness of how your body is moving + feeling—-and growing coordination, strength, and mobility through intentional + fun movements. Mat, reformer, tower, + prop options are available. All Pilates sessions are currently offered as a component of a whole-person wellness or physical therapy session.
Pilates for wellness is a wonderful way to lay the foundation to move with ease and strength. Oftentimes, this movement practice can serve as a preventative + empowering tool during pregnancy, postpartum, throughout the lifespan, and at any point to integrate the body (and mind) and meet daily tasks and passions.
Pilates for rehabilitation is about moving in safe and fun ways to re-establish awareness of how your body is moving; learning about movements that work well for your body and those that aren’t currently serving you; and building resilience to be able to live and do what you live with comfort. Oftentimes, this is a healing practice for individuals with low back +/or pelvic pain, discomfort with impact/weight-bearing exercise, or decreased balance; and is integrated into many of my treatment plans.
